Grow Where U R

There is a need inside each of us for story.  The need for a storyline we can somehow connect to.  We need to know our lives intersect with a greater purpose, a higher vision, a larger story.  The good news is that there is a greater story.  And we are part of it.

Although at times we feel like a fragment, a footnote, a scrap on the cutting room floor, we are not.  Not if we don’t want to be.  Because life is eternally extending us its offer to dance.  To participate.  To be involved.  To join the story.  The new story…

The lasting story that is currently being written.

Our story is weaved into The Story.  It is.  But we can not possibly see it all.  We are limited to one particular perspective.  One particular time and place in his”story.”  Simply put: we are not The Author.  We did not choose to be born.  Nor can we add one single hour to our lives.

We must exist and experience our existence within our limited time and place.  In a sense, we are not much different than a stalk of corn planted in a certain spot in a certain row in a certain farm in a certain town.  We grow.  Up.  Toward the sun.  And simply grow where we are.

The corn does not decide a whole lot.  It can not really move.  It can only root down and grow up.  It can soak in the sun.  It can take in the breeze.  The stalk of corn can experience the life around it.  It IS included in the cycle of life, but simply has a limited experience of it.

But the corn, like all of us, participates.  It, like all of us, is invited in.  It, like all of us, has access to life that endures forever.  The life that is truly life.  Waving in the wind.  Soaking in the sun.  We may feel sorry for the stalk of corn that can not move, yet still it is connecting us to life’s story.

Are we willing to connect to the story?  Are we willing to let life lead us?  To take in the sun’s rays? Feel the breeze!  Receive and do the one thing that life requires of us, grow!  Are you willing to grow?  Then let life lead your growth.  Though this does mean going wherever it leads us.

The story of life is not stagnant.  Even though a stalk of corn may be movement restricted, it is NOT growth restricted.  In fact, growth is required.  What is not growing, generally is dying.  So participation in life is possible, even to the smallest microbial levels.  All are invited into the story!

The same storyline ultimately flows through ALL living things.  We share that with every last beautiful creature.  Life.  It looks different in different creatures.  Not all breathe with lungs.  Yet life makes its way through the smallest microbial levels.  The story of life is everywhere connecting us.

It connects us together, but it also connects us above and beyond.  The story of life connects us to the past, and to the future.  It connects us to all time, and space, and people, and place.  And it connects all of life into one single moment: right now.  Right now we are infinitely connected to the story of Life itself.

Right now you have everything you need. In with and under the waves of sun.  Soak it in!
